Our flagship event Shambala is just around the corner!
Shambala guests are on it and play a huge part in helping us run one of the greenest festivals out there, from bringing their own bottles, choosing veggie and vegan diets, over a ¼ arriving on shared transport and so much more. But what about before and after the festival?
Here’s some of our top tips for taking climate action back into everyday life, posted here with our Green Shambala pages:
+ Clothing – We make over 8 billion items a year, and human rights and ecology continue to suffer. Can you shop more second hand to avoid high street and fast fashion?
+ Banking – Can you switch your bank to avoid the predominant high street 5? Who collectively fund over £30 billion for fossil fuels and the destruction of our planet. It is so easy to do, honest! Visit switchit.green for advice.
+ Food – It’s such a huge issue, food is so deeply entrenched in our cultures. But global farming practices and undeniably nightmarish, in general. More local, plant-based produce really will help safeguard our future on Earth.
+ Energy – Can you investigate switching your home energy to a green tariff? If you are able to, this is a huge move to help support the energy transition we so desperately need.
+ Travel – The magic of travel is so unique, try keeping it local, or grounded, or shared wherever and whenever possible.
+ Materials – We’re drowning in stuff. The less of everything we buy new, the more we pass on, and reuse, revamp and recycle the better.
+ Community – It gets us through the hard times and makes the good times! Lean into your community, support local grow projects, find inspiring solutions, and share the word on lifestyle changes to prevent further destruction to our beautiful planet!
